Are you an aspiring secondary school English Teacher?

Do you have strong subject knowledge in English and are you confident to teach up to KS3, 4 and 5?

An Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School in Southall in Ealing are looking to appoint strong English graduates for a trainee teacher position. The successful graduate will be appointed as a teaching assistant in the English department supporting students from KS3 up to KS5. The secondary school would like the teaching assistant to begin ASAP and it will be a full-time position. The opportunity to train to become fully qualified English Teachers is available for very strong graduates from September 2019. Ideally, the school would like to employ an English Graduate as an unqualified English teacher for the rest of this academic year.

Previous experience working with children is desirable for this role. The secondary school are looking for graduates with a strong education background and desirably a minimum of a 2:2 in their degree.

As a English Trainee Teacher you will support the classroom teacher with all relevant classroom duties. You will provide students with one to one support and small group intervention in the build up to the examination period. You must have a very positive and confident approach and strong subject knowledge. You will have the personality to inspire students and encourage them to achieve their highest academic potential.

In return, the school offers you the chance to train to become a fully qualified English teacher in a supportive environment, with an excellent Continued Professional Development programme post qualification.
