Inner London (MPS or UPS + TLR) Southwark secondary school is currently recruiting for a permanent KS5 Maths Subject Leader(experienced Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths). This role is to commence in September 2018.

Popular, larger than average & over-subscribed Southwark Secondary School. Over the years, they have gone through successful changes in order for the school to aim for excellence. September 2018 permanent Maths KS5 Subject Lead Teacher appointment has been made available. This role would suit an experienced secondary trained MPS or UPS Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths / 2IC / Second in Charge / HOD / Coordinator or an already a Maths KS5 Subject Leader who can build a strong rapport with their students with excellent secondary mainstream experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths, as an opportunity to make a difference within the department. This post offers either MPS or UPS with a great TLR. The successful KS5 Maths Subject Leader / Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths must have taught in a mainstream secondary school at a minimum of Key Stage 3 & 4 . Additionally you will have experience and a good understanding of the UK curriculum. As a secondary trained (ie QTS, PGCE, GTP, ITT etc) Maths Teacher / Second in Charge (2IC) of Maths / KS5 Maths Subject Leader, you will have a strong STEM back ground and sound knowledge of your subject. You must have strong leadership and managerial qualities, able to lead a team successfully and effectively as Second in Charge (2IC) of Maths. You will have an excellent track record of assessment for learning and teaching and learning. This role needs a strong leader, who has managed a team, decisive, firm but fair. Excellent time to start where you put your ‘stamp’ in the department

* You will have a secondary teaching certificate (PGCE/ ITT/ CertEd/ GTP/ QTS/ Teach First)
* Secondary Experience in a Mainstream school (strong experience of the UK curriculum) as an experienced Teacher of Maths/ Maths Teacher.
* Experience teaching a minimum of KS3 & 4 as a MPS or UPS Maths Teacher / Teacher of Maths
* Experienced MPS or UPS Maths Teacher looking for a step up to a Subject Lead post
* Can demonstrate a Good to Outstanding lesson
* Excellent leader and managerial capabilities
* Can build a strong rapport with students, engage, enthuse & inspire your students with fun and Creative lessons
