Servoca Education Resourcing is working with primary schools across North London who will be looking for Teaching Assistants to start in October 2017. This will be to work with children who have behavioural difficulties, autism and Cerebral Palsy. The primary schools are perfectly located in Camden, Islington and Haringey close to the Victoria line, Northern line and Central line underground stations.
The primary schools in Haringey, Islington and Camden are mainstream and therefore have pupils with a range of different learning difficulties such as; mild to moderate Autism, learning difficulties ADHD, SEMH and Aspergers. They are recruiting staff on longterm contracts with a view to becoming a permanent member of staff, and you could be joining a primary school that offer extensive training for their support staff along with excellent facilities.
In these types of roles, you will be required to provide effective emotional, personal and social support to help develop social interaction skills. You will be a positive role model at all times and be able to support children aged 4-11 with class work including communication, language, literacy and numeracy.
To be considered for an interview you must hold a minimum of 6 months recent experience working with Special Education Needs, ideally Autism or challenging behaviour. The ideal applicant will also have formal training/ qualifications related to working with SEN. Desirable qualifications include:
* Team Teach
* Level (1 – 3) SEN Diploma
* Makaton/ PECS
* Autism Awareness Training (Any)
