An outstanding primary school in Pimlico in Westminster are searching for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as a Trainee Teacher in September 2020. This is a two-year contract working 8.30am-4pm full-time. The successful Graduate will have achieved their QTS in Primary Education by the end of the two years. During your two year course you will progress from your teaching assistant responsibilities through to gradually teaching a full timetable to a class of 30 children. This exciting teacher training opportunity is available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

The Primary School is within a 5-minute walk of Pimlico tube station and is easily accessible from all over London. They have been graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in the last 18 months and has an extremely supportive and established leadership team. The Head Teacher is offering this fantastic opportunity to a teaching assistant to gain invaluable classroom experience, develop their skills and understanding of what it takes to be an outstanding teacher whilst earning an income. The teaching assistant will be provided with two mentors who will ensure they are fully equipped to not only achieve QTS but excel in their teaching career.

The successful teaching assistant will be educated to a degree level graded 2:2 or above and have a minimum of a C in Maths, English and Science GCSE. The primary school are looking for the trainee teacher to bring enthusiasm, passion and dedication to the classroom. Extensive previous experience working with children is not essential but a minimum of 3 months would be desirable. Graduates with no experience will also be considered for this exciting opportunity as the two-year course will provide you ample opportunity to develop your experience, curriculum knowledge and confidence before gaining your QTS.
