An Ofsted rated mixed ‘Good’ secondary school in Haringey are looking for newly graduates that are interested in exploring the teaching career and expand their classroom experience by becoming a teaching assistant. The secondary school would like the teaching assistant to begin in September 2019, this position is full time. As a teaching assistant you will appointed in the English department providing support to students from KS3 up to KS5.

The school has great facilities and it’s located in an accessible area, nearest station seven sisters on the Victoria line.

The teaching assistant will be joining a team of highly experienced teachers and helpful staff who are friendly and willing to provide any extra support you may require in order for you to be successful at your role.

Previous experience working with children is desirable for the teaching assistant role. The school seeks for newly graduates with a strong education background with a minimum of a 2:2 on their degree; graduates who have an interest in potentially becoming a teacher should note that teaching training will be an option for strong candidates.

As a English teaching assistant you will support the classroom teacher with all classroom duties, you will be expected to provide one to one support and small group intervention particularly during the examination period.

The teaching assistant should have strong subject knowledge as well as a positive and confident approach. The teaching assistant should be someone who is able to inspire and encourage students to achieve their highest academic potential.
