Successful and highly academic Lewisham Secondary School is recruiting for an English Graduate for a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant post. This is a long term appointment to commence in January 2019.
Successful Secondary school with a sixth form with academically, Gifted and talented students who essentially want to learn. Due to the type of school, the client is able to offer a English Graduate / Teaching Assistant / Graduate Teaching Assistant a post with some teaching. The school is able to offer help in progressing Graduates into teachers. The successful Graduate English Student / Graduate Teaching Assistant must be passionate, dedicated, pro-active, articulate and intelligent with a minimum of a 2:1 with good A Levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable school and a well run school. The Lewisham Secondary School is looking for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant / Teaching Assistant with either a degree or MSc. You will either be working with a small group of students or on a 1-2-1 basis. Due to the role there would be a teaching element to the post so would suit a confident English Graduate who can build a strong rapport with students. You will be able to demonstrate on your CV that you are an English Graduate and have Secondary school student experience ( ie youth work, experience in a secondary school, tuition experience).
You would be working with highly academic and gifted or inner city students at KS3 & KS4 levels, so it is imperative you are confident in different types of students. You will eventually want to pursue a career in teaching, as there will be a teaching element to this Teaching Assistant opportunity.

* You are an articulate, pro-active and intelligent English Graduate / Teaching Assistant
* An English Graduate who would like to pursue a career in teaching in the future and open to a TA post with some teaching of English Literature and Language (NOT EAL/ESOL/TEFL)
* You will have experience working with secondary school students in some capacity (ie youth work, LSA, TA, English tutoring etc)
