There is an exciting opportunity to secure a 1 year contract at an ‘Outstanding’ one form entry Mainstream Primary School based in Wandsworth. The school is near to Balham station. This is a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant opportunity. There are two vacancies at this school. The opportunities involve working on a 1:1 basis with a child with an ECHP. A one year contract is on offer. Experience with SEMH, ASD, team teach training, ADHD and A teaching assistant with experience in a similar position or a theoretical understanding of SEN is suitable for this role.
The Primary school would ideally like to meet candidates who have a degree and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. The children can present challenging behaviour so will require someone with confidence and experience to control and calm this. This role will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistant appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.
Team teach training would be very desirable for this role!

The Primary school in Balham, Wandsworth are looking for dynamic teaching assistants who are energetic and passionate about their input into a child’s education. The teaching assistant will be supporting the children in their numeracy and literacy within KS1 and KS2 and the teaching assistant’s primary role will be to ensure each child is fulfilling the learning objective for each lesson. As these children have additional needs, the successful teaching assistant will go above and beyond to ensure the children are supported and progressing to the best of their abilities.
There are SEND children within each class and your role will be to support their individual needs. The needs include ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, physical and behavioural challenges. Experience working with one or more of these is ideal for this role.
This is a fantastic platform for aspiring teachers to gain valuable experience in preparation for completing their teacher training the following year. This is a teacher training school meaning that successful TAs can consequently be enrolled on to the School’s Direct Teacher Training Programme in September 2019.
