The schools provide over above average support for ASD children to ensure they are included within the national curriculum in mainstream education. In addition, the Secondary Schools adhere to maintaining their excellent reputation working with KS3 to KS5 students and providing all rounded education for pupils in their school. With this is mind, the staff are fully qualified and dedicated to completing professional development sessions alongside safeguarding and other various training courses. Therefore, the school requires the ideal ASD Teaching Assistant to join their highly qualified staffing team in an accessible opportunistic location in Barnet, North London

Job Information

* ASD Teaching Assistants in North London
* Supporting KS3- KS5 ASD students
* 8:30-4:30 pm working schedule
* Co-Teach students in the classroom (Classroom support teacher)

ASD Teaching Assistants (TAs) will support teachers in a Mainstream Secondary School and will experience working with children who face difficulties or challenges within the classroom. TAs will need to build rapport with children in the classroom in order to support the children in the schools. The children will become familiar with the TAs they are supported by as the students can become unsettled with frequent changes of ASD TAs.

Candidate Requirements

* Experience working with children that have ADHD and Autism as well as experience dealing with challenging behaviour in the classroom.
* Experience working with SEN children (ideal but the above is necessary)

The right individuals for these roles have the opportunity to progress in the position with ongoing learning and development as initial Teaching Assistants to Teachers through Schools Direct. All in all, the schools encourage rapport to be created between Students, Staff and the SLT team. All candidates will need to be able to build rapport with all members of the schools.
