A Primary School located in the Borough of Southwark is searching for a graduate teaching assistant to join their team for this academic September 2018. This school is ideally seeking for a graduate teaching assistant who is passionate about the education of young people. The successful graduate will be employed for the whole academic year as a classroom teaching assistant and then if you desire to progress you could be considered for the Teaching Training Programme.

The Head Teacher of this Primary school is seeking a nurturing, and enthusiastic candidate who will be able motivated pupils regarding their learning. This mainstream Primary school is rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED and commended by them due to their excellent Leadership team. The graduate will be paid at a competitive rate, ranging from £65 to £85 per day depending on experience. This teaching assistant position is full-time long term role with the hours between 8.30am and 4pm.
The two types of roles available are either a general TA role or a SEN TA role. The SEN TA assistant role may involve working with special educational needs children with; ASD, ADHD or any other learning difficulties, by helping pupils on a 1:1 or in relatively small groups. Alternatively, the graduate may be considered for a general teaching assistant role by assisting the class teacher where they would focus on supporting pupils with their numeracy and literacy skills. The successful candidate will take small groups to ensure that the pupils are on task and meeting learning objectives set by the class-teacher.

The ideal graduate will have achieved a 2:2 or above in their degree. Experience working with young people whether it be in a similar environment, youth work or sport is desirable but not a necessity.
