An excellent Primary school based near Clapham Common in Lambeth are looking for two experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join them in September. There is an opportunity to work with a child joining the school in Reception and another with a child in Year 3. These positions will require someone with skills in SEMH and behavioural support. A background in Psychology would also be desirable as one of the children has an attachment disorder. The roles require someone with experience in this field, as well as display a caring and nurturing approach.
SEN Teaching Assistant
1 year contract
£65-£100 per day (DOE)
Team Teach or some form of restraint experience is desirable for this role as the children display some challenging behaviour.
The Primary school would ideally like to meet candidates who have a degree and who have some experience working with Special Educational Needs e.g. Autism, ADHD, dyslexia. The children can present challenging behaviour so will require someone with confidence and experience to control and calm this. This role will entail a variety of responsibilities and will offer excellent experience for the teaching assistant appointed. Minimum standards will include Maths and English at GCSE graded C or above.
This is a 1 year long-term contract initially with the view to move to a permanent contract the following year.
Interviews for this position will begin on Tuesday 28th August 2018 with the view to start work on the 3rd September.
