Servoca Education is currently helping a new, Modern Orthodox Jewish Free school situated in the heart of Golders Green is looking for a Year 6 Teacher to Joint in September. The school opened in September 2012 with their first Reception class and now have year groups up to Y5.
2018/19 will be a very exciting year for thee school with their first full complement of classes from Reception – Y6 and this position is to teach their first Y6 class and they have recently moved into our purpose built building with stunning views overlooking Barnet.
Even as a faith school they follow the National Curriculum for all subject areas, the children also have one kodesh (Jewish Studies) lesson a day which is taught by specialist kodesh teachers. The children learn Ivrit (Modern Hebrew) as their Modern Foreign Language, also taught by a specialist teacher. All teachers are employed according to national conditions of pay and service. The School pride themselves on the diverse nature of their staff body and welcome applicants from across the community. You certainly do not have to be Jewish to work at this school, in fact many of the staff are not – you just have to be an excellent teacher and committed team player.
This is an exciting time to join as the Headteacher is looking for an excellent Y6 class teacher, with previous successful Y6 teaching experience, to join a fabulous team in September 2018. They are currently developing an inspiring curriculum, steeped in awareness of and engagement with the modern world whilst prioritising excellence and achievement, inclusiveness and diversity, as well as supporting the development of the children’s moral responsibility and pride in their Jewish heritage. They are also involved in a maths-mastery project at school with all our staff having the opportunity to develop proficient maths mastery teaching skills under the guidance of the Barnet lead maths consultant as well as our Deputy Head who is a trained NCETM maths-mastery specialist. This included the privilege of participating in a very exciting DfE Shanghai maths mastery exchange in Autumn 2017.

In addition to the weekly staff meeting, this also includes a weekly 90 minute Joint Professional Collaboration session where teachers have an opportunity to plan together, as well as further develop their subject knowledge and professional skills.
The main responsibilities of this post are those of a Y6 class teacher, this post may also include a school improvement TLR (2a), the nature of which will depend of the knowledge and experience of the post holder. The school policy is that staff do not necessarily retain the same responsibilities all the time but may be asked to teach a different class or take on school improvement leadership in a different area, according to the requirements of the school. The salary for this position is according to the national main pay scale (MPS or UPS) for qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
