The Role – Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a strong, enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant with at least 1 years classroom experience within the SEN setting. This role will be working in a mainstream secondary school based in Lambeth, working full time providing SEN support across the KS3/4 curriculum. To be considered for this role you must have at least 1 years experience within the SEN setting in either a school or care work capacity. The school aims to provide the highest standards of teaching and learning so that all children can achieve their highest academic potential.

As a school they ensure that they foster and develop the social and emotional well-being of their children as well as concentrating on developing the potential of their staff. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant you must be very proactive, enthusiastic and a resilient learning support assistant that will put their students first at every stage. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant you will also be required to support students that present challenging behaviour which may be on a 1:1 basis in the classroom or in small groups.

Ideally to be considered for this role you will hold a degree however this is not essential, but you must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, at least 1 years experience within the SEN setting and also a strong academic background in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. This position is for a mainstream secondary school based in the London borough of Lambeth, the school easily accessible from all points of London.

Candidates should ideally:
• Have previous SEN experience working with young people.
• Have good communication skills
• Have a good sense of humour
• Be flexible
• Have Excellent attendance and punctuality record
