As an English Teacher, you will be tasked with delivering a broad, balanced, up to date and relevant curriculum to students, monitoring and supporting their progress along the way. You’ll make raising standards of attainment a priority, encouraging students to fulfil their academic potential. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for: planning and delivering lessons, attending appropriate meetings and parents evenings, marking student work, keeping up to date with the national curriculum and any developments within the wider teaching landscape and ensuring effective deployment of classroom support staff.
The school is based in North London , close to public transport links and within the inner-London pay zone. A mixed 11-16 comprehensive, high standards and expectations are set in order to encourage and support students to achieve their very best. Student achievement at the school is high; 93% of students received an A*-C grade in their English Language GCSEs last year.

The Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate, you will be an English Teacher who is a graduate in a relevant subject and hold DfE recognised QTS. You’ll also have a solid understanding of the national curriculum requirements at KS3/4. You’ll have the ability to lead and manage your own work load effectively, with excellent time management skills. Personally, you’ll have a positive approach to your work and lead your students by example. You’ll have a passion for English as a subject and teaching as a profession. You’ll be enthusiastic and committed to contributing to school life and the wider school community, including parents and other key stakeholders.
