History Teacher, Islington – ‘Good’ Secondary School Jan 2018 / Easter 2018 Start

My client is looking for an experienced History Teacher to join their excellent History department, located in an OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school in the London Borough of Islington.

The Role

As a History Teacher, you will be tasked with delivering a broad, balanced, up to date and relevant curriculum to students, monitoring and supporting their progress along the way. You’ll make raising standards of attainment a priority, encouraging students to fulfil their academic potential. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for: planning and delivering lessons, attending appropriate meetings and parents evenings, marking student work, keeping up to date with the national curriculum and any developments within the wider teaching landscape and ensuring effective deployment of classroom support staff.

The Ideal Candidate

As the ideal candidate, you will be a History Teacher who is a graduate in a relevant subject and have DfE recognised QTS. You’ll also have a solid understanding of the national curriculum requirements at KS3/4. You’ll have the ability to lead and manage your own work load effectively, with excellent time management skills. Personally, you’ll have a positive approach to your work and lead your students by example. You’ll have a passion for History as a subject and teaching as a profession. You’ll be enthusiastic and committed to contributing to school life and the wider school community, including parents and other stakeholders.
