The school, based in Hackney, East London has consistently achieved OFSTED ‘Good’ ratings and is led by an experienced headteacher who was brought in several years ago to turn around what was then a failing school. Since then, results have remarkably improved (the school consistently achieves above average GCSE results) and teachers are able to work within an environment that encourages creativity within their teaching. The science department is made up of teachers from a range of scientific backgrounds and disciples, so you will be in great company.
As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be a talented and inspirational science teacher with a passion for your field of expertise. As such, you will thrive on sharing that passion with your pupils, encouraging their curiosity at every opportunity. Ideally, you will have 2-3 years’ experience as a science teacher, although the school has expressed that it is willing to take on an NQT if they fit well into the team. You will have at least a 2:1 in a sciences degree. You’ll also need to live within the borough of Hackney or within 2-3 miles.
