SEN Teaching Assistant in Primary School in Kensington

A vibrant, warm and welcoming Primary school in Kensington are currently searching for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible. The position is a long-term contract until the end of the summer term, although there is an opportunity to achieve a permanent contract in the next academic year.

This is a wonderful Primary school based in North Kensington. Most recently the school was awarded ‘Good’ by OFSTED, highlighting the excellent Senior Leadership Team and all-round positive feeling of the school. The school has been commended for its low staff-turnover and specifically for their reports of staff satisfaction.

The position requires someone with experience working with children with autism, particularly someone who is confident with their behaviour management abilities. The teaching assistant will be full-time implementing behaviour management strategies to help ensure that ASD children are on task and fulfilling the lesson objectives.

The teaching assistant employed will be required to begin immediately or as soon as possible. This is a full-time position. The daily pay rate for this SEN Teaching Assistant will be between £60 and £80 dependent on experience.

Experience working with children on the autistic spectrum is desirable for this role. The ideal teaching assistant will either be a graduate or have a minimum of a Cache Level 3 in Childcare, Assisting Teaching and Learning or in a subject of relevant criteria.

The ability to implement and maintain behavioural strategies are important for this position and will be the main function of this role. Experience in a similar role is ideal. The person appointed must be confident in working with children with ASD.

The school is easily accessible by public transport for the teaching assistant appointed.
