This is an OFSTED rated good primary school in Islington that are seeking a Learning Mentor to work in their vibrant school. They have an excellent reputation within the London borough of Islington. The school are very well established and have excellent relationships with the local LEA and the Governors. The SLT here are respected and have the best interests of the students and the teachers at heart. Having recently undergone a change of Headteacher, the school have had a year to settle into the new movement and ethos of the school. As a Learning Mentor, you’ll provide a service to complement the Teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential. You will work with a range of pupils across KS1 and KS2, giving priority to those who need it the most. The role is primarily focused on challenging behaviour and attendance of students who have been recommended to you for mentoring.
The ideal candidate will be a resilient and personable character. Although no formal qualifications are required, it is desirable to have a minimum G.C.S.E grade C in Maths and English. The Learning Mentor holds an important role in the school and would need to be organised, ambitious and want to make a difference.
