Servoca Education can help you gain experience working in a mainstream primary school where you will be given the opportunity to in the classroom whilst also being able to provide essential 1:1 support to pupils. Some of the pupils simply need strong, motivational and inspirational role model to help them settle and engage with school life.

Primary school Behaviour Mentors work on a full time basis supporting students behaviour and learning inside and outside of the class, this is primarily a class based position however its very likely you will end up doing 1:1 sessions at some stage in order to maintain the progress of student’s behaviour and learning.

The Behaviour Mentor will work with a range of pupils in KS1 and KS2, but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages including:

* Children with special needs
* Challenging behaviour

The role of a Behaviour Mentor is to work with school staff and other agencies to provide support to students who need help overcoming barriers to learning, where behaviour and attendance issues are a cause for concern. The intention is to bring about sustained change with individual pupils, to improve of their behaviour and attendance
